The power of content: tips and tricks
How does your message stand out in a society where information overload is the norm? With which content do you attract the attention of your target group and what type of content works best?
Studio Bamm-it, our creative studio, gave an inspiring keynote during the Gondola Day and summarized some tips and tricks on digital signage content. Couldn't be there or missed the presentation? Review the full session here or read some key takeaways below:
1. Keep it short, powerful and relevant
How do you translate an offline campaign into a message that splashes off the screen? Just showing a poster on your screen is not a good idea. Digital signage content requires a different build-up, contains shorter texts and is based on the storytelling principle.
- Delete long texts and simplify your layout: less is more!
- Focus on the essence of your message
- Use the dynamics of animations to tell your message
2. Play cleverly with context and target group
There is no need to tell you that digital signage is a particularly dynamic communication channel. Moving images attract much more attention than static content, you can adjust your message remotely and you can easily pimp your content loop with local content.
But thanks to smart links you can take your screen communication just that little bit further. For example, tailor your content to the time of day, the temperature or even the person in front of the screen. Hyper-personalized communication, check!
3. Go for visual innovation and technology
Are your “basics” right and do you especially want to stand out? Then deepscreen animations and anamorphic illusions are the way to go. Thanks to these techniques, the content literally seems to emerge from the screen. A surprising effect guaranteed to catch the attention of passersby.
But CGI videos are also popping up more and more often in campaigns. These hyper-realistic images of unrealistic situations raise many an eyebrow ;-).
