DXP Play

Run your website or webapp (PWA) on a managed ChromeOS device

Google Chrome extension for kiosks with management portal for IT admins.

Are you looking for a simple and effective way to display your website or web application on a kiosk or touchscreen? Look no further! Our DXP Play Chrome extension is the perfect solution to make your content safe and accessible to your audience.

What is DXP Play?

So much more than a Google Chrome extension for kiosks

View DXP Play as the missing link to display a website, web app or progressive web app (PWA) on a touchscreen or kiosk with a ChromeOS device.

The Google ChromeOS environment is the ideal basic infrastructure to successfully roll out a kiosk or touchscreen project.  What the Google ChromeOS Device Management platform does not offer however is a tool to centrally manage the Chrome browser properties and browser behavior.  The DXP Play solution offers the answer here.  DXP Play contains a Google Chrome extension that is sent to the ChromeOS players via the CDM system.  This allows us to manage the behavior of the Chrome browser. For example, we can block URLs, set inactivity timers, show a navigation bar, set up session management rules, turn off the screen and much more.  These settings can be managed via the DXP Solution Manager.  This is a web portal where all devices are registered and where the desired settings can be managed. This gives IT administrators and integrators all the tools to set up a successful touchscreen or kiosk project.

Why ChromeOS or ChromeOS Flex?

ChromeOS offers the ideal environment for kiosk applications thanks to its fast start-up times, automatic updates and built-in security features. The streamlined operating system eliminates all unnecessary features and ensures that your kiosk is always ready to use, without any hassle.  With the Google Chrome Device Manager (CDM) it provide the administrator a perfect tool to manage and monitor its devices.  In addition, ChromeOS always offers the developer the latest version of his most beloved browser. No more old browser versions and incompatibilities!

Why a Chrome kiosk extension?

Chrome Device Management offers a system administrator a lot of configuration options and monitoring tools. However, the platform does not offer a ready-made answer to display a website or web app properly on a public device.  DXP Play is the answer for this.  DXP Play offers the user a Chrome extension that can manage the Chrome browser.  Linked to the DXP management portal, this software offers a powerful solution for managing your web applications in the field.

DXP management portal

The DXP Play settings are set via the DXP management portal. The DXP management portal provides access to various apps. The Solution Manager app allows you to configure the various kiosks/interactive screens in the field and manage the correct settings per screen. In addition, this tool offers an extensive monitoring display that allows you to get a status overview of all devices and define intelligent alert rules. This way, you are immediately informed of any problems.

Another interesting app within the DXP management portal is the Analytics manager. This provides useful insights into the use of the web apps that you display via the interactive screens and kiosks. You can create your own graphs and insights via an extensive configurator. Useful, right?
